Ahead of the 16th European Forum on Eco-Innovation and the 2nd ETV (Environmental Technology Verification) Stakeholder Forum, Pavel Misiga, head of the Eco-Innovation and Circular Economy in the European Commission's Environment Directorate-General, discussed three European Union policy initiatives that could help companies in the quest for greater sustainability.

The European Union should set itself a resource efficiency target that would have the effect of making the bloc at least 30% more resource productive by 2030, according to the final recommendations of the high-level European Resource Efficiency Platform (EREP).

A Croatian project is combining two eco-innovative developments to manufacture a recyclable prefabricated wall panel that it says could be “a possible technological solution for fast construction of very low energy buildings on a large scale.” The project, ECO-SANDWICH, is part financed by the European Commission Eco-Innovation Programme.
